Stanley Creators Fund

Honored as a Stanley Creator for innovative and novel work to protect coral reefs in Tela, Honduras. Followup grant awarded for showing “significant impact to date” and a “clear and inspiring vision for the future.” Funding outcomes include mainland Honduras’ 1st ever living coral biobank, a virtual reality scuba experience, and an award-winning short documentary. All work completed as nonprofit Tela Coral.

2023

Top Winner for United Nations Metaverse for the SDGs Competition

Awarded “Top Winner” and “Highest Honors” in Exponential Destiny’s inaugural Metaverse for the SDGs [United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals] competition for “Found in the Fjords,” a virtual reality experience about wild orcas in Arctic Norway. Game praised by judges for empathy building between species and for well-developed narrative arc. The VR game was created in partnership with Three Otters Media.

2025

Ocean Culture Life Storytelling Grant

Awarded the Ocean Culture Life Storytelling Grant to support impactful narratives from the world’s oceans. Grant allowed us to add local filmmakers to our crew to ensure authenticity, capacity-building, and the amplification of local voices. The film was created in partnership with Tela Coral and Hidden Compass.

2022

Public Voices Fellowship on the Climate Crisis

Selective fellowship run by the Op-Ed Project, in partnership with the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication, to amplify underrepresented voices and to diversify the leadership about the climate crisis. Trained in how to write and place successful Op-Eds and to speak more truth to power.
